Composed of all the shades of violet, lilac, lavender, silver and gray with hints of plum and maroon this shawl draws inspiration from the iconic movie Labyrinth (1986). The labyrinth walls, the junk yard, the swamp, cobble stones of the mysterious road shimmering in the twilight…
The purple colour is said to affect the mind & body, uplifts the spirits, it has a calming effect, enhances the sacred & spiritual in us, encourages imagination & creativity. Lavender is a feminine, graceful, elegant color that has long been associated with refined, wealthy women.

As the highlight of the shawl I used a handspun longwool yarn handdyed by Sandi Waygood whose bulky and delicate style is very compatible with my weaving. I also used cotton wraps which I recycled from old pair of cotton Indian pants, polyester, polyamide, lurex, wool, mohair, glitter…
